Wiring vs Rewiring — When Your Old Home Needs an Upgrade

01.Signs You Need a Rewire

Pre-2000 construction, aluminium wiring, two-pin sockets, no earthing, single MCB for whole house, or visible cloth-covered wires — all indicate the wiring has outlived its safe life.

02.What a Rewire Involves

Concealed conduit replacement, copper wire (1.5/2.5/4 sqmm based on load), modular switches, proper earthing, sectionalized DB with RCCB, and individual MCBs per circuit.

03.Timeline & Disruption

A 2BHK rewire takes 5–8 days. Furniture is moved center-room, plaster is cut along wall edges, and post-work the patch areas are repaired. Most families stay in the house during work.
